Welcome to the world of mystery and luxury, where high stakes and high society intertwine in our latest luxury murder mystery dinner party game, ‘Murder at Design the Future Group.’ This luxury murder mystery, crafted with exceptional attention to detail, invites players into a universe where power, wealth, and ambition collide.
The genesis of ‘Murder at Design the Future Group’ is as intriguing as the game itself. Commissioned by a discerning client from the UK, this game was designed as a unique experience for a close-knit group of 13 friends, inspired by their personalities and quirks. Their adventure was originally intended to accompany them on a picturesque trip to Italy, adding an extra layer of excitement and personal connection to their getaway.
“This was my first time doing a luxury murder mystery dinner. I was a little scared, but I had the best time! It was very well guided and there was a healthy level of suspense and tension and it was such fun dressing up.” – Robynn K.
The game’s setting is nothing short of grand. Imagine stepping into the commencement dinner of the annual Design the Future Group conference, a gathering where the world’s elite convene to shape the future. This fictional event is a melting pot of influential, wealthy, and power-hungry individuals sharing groundbreaking business ideas, dissecting the rise and fall of celebrities, and even forecasting the next big retail trends.
Amidst the opulent surroundings, the evening takes a dark turn with the murder of the enigmatic CEO, Jim Ball. Participants must dive deep into the web of secrets, lies, and ambitions to unmask the culprit among them.
The debut of this thrilling game took place in the charming ambiance of Bouchon, a French bistro nestled in the heart of Cape Town. The setting was meticulously enhanced by the exquisite decor supplied by Petals Group, whose artistic touch transformed the venue into an elegant, atmospheric backdrop for intrigue. Soft, flickering lights from Cloverleaf Candles added a warm, mysterious glow, enveloping guests in the perfect mood for detective work during this luxury murder mystery dinner party.
“I loved it! It was so much fun, it was so good to meet new people. The biggest surprise for me on the night was watching my husband, who is more introverted, completely steal the show!” – Nicola S.
The first playthrough was a resounding success, featuring my own friends and connections and captivating players with its immersive storytelling and intricate plot twists. As guests intermingled, interrogating one another beneath the bistro’s ambient lighting, a palpable sense of excitement filled the air. It was an evening of laughter, suspense, and camaraderie, leaving everyone eagerly anticipating the next chapter of their adventure.
“I transformed into a strange, camp, German man named Baron von Bassclef and it was really fun, actually! I’ve never been in character for that long. In fact, I had never been in character. It was two-and-a-half hours of solid ‘characterness’ and it was really good fun. I think that’s the part I enjoyed the most, which was surprising. It was a really fun evening, well organised, and it was cool to play a really elaborate game as an adult!” – Brian S.

“What I enjoyed about this evening was very little script was given, so it encouraged me as an introvert to really step out. As soon as the laughter and jeering and really trying to throw each other under the bus started, the energy just flowed around the room very naturally. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and would recommend it for a company or anyone wanting to break the ice. I knew one person, but as soon as the game was finished and we got to meet each other there was no awkwardness, because we had been talking all evening.” Alan F.
