But this wasn’t just any game night. It was a fully bespoke, one-of-a-kind murder mystery experience, created especially for a milestone celebration.
The whole adventure started with Christine le Roux, a talented photographer who had captured a few of my previous murder mystery dinner parties. After watching guests transform into their outrageous alter-egos and seeing how much fun they had — from plotting fake betrayals to dramatically revealing their secrets — she turned to me after one event and said, “I need to do one of these myself!”

There was also time spent exploring nearby Watamu, a charming coastal town known for its white-sand beaches and laid-back beauty. But the highlight of the trip? Characters Fit For a Fortieth Birthday Party
With a character list that included a butler-turned-cosplay-designer, a French perfume mogul with secrets (and scents) to die for, and a DJ-slash-energy-drink-entrepreneur handing out samples like candy, the scene was set for decadent drama. Everyone — from ages 30 to 75 — threw themselves into the story, embracing every clue, twist, and shady backstory I’d written just for them.
Christine later said:
